It is a custom here in Japan that on Valentine’s day, women give chocolate to men; and as a return March 14, the so called white day, men gives chocolate to women. I received an early white day present from my coworker. It is no chocolate though, but it was very delicious. It is a bamkuhen cake coated with white choco and strawberry powder. It was very delicious.

Recently there is a sudden change in my body weight, from 48 kilos it becomes 50 kilos the next day. This is because of the water accumulation in my body. I can feel it in my ankles and knees. My fingers too are starting to swell. It really hurts.

My lips also got big last Thursday. Since it is my day off every Fridays, I decided to have a sudden trip to the hospital to consult to mama doctor, Kitabayashi Sensei. It was a good thing that I made it in time for the reception cutoff of 11:00 am. I reserved via telephone. I also met my other doctors and they were really surprised because they know that I don’t have appointment today. Nagatsuji Sensei said that I should bear with it, and if it will be warmer in the spring season, maybe the pain will not be that much. So Kitabayashi Sensei gave me additional medicine so that I can urinate well and she also added half capsule of Prograf again. Last time, she decrease a capsule of prograf, she thinks that because of the decrease, the symptoms are getting bad, so she added half a capsule. And she said that if it will not get any better on the next outpatient consultation, we will think of another way.

My new medicine dosage is:

🌅Morning: 7.5mg of Predonine, 2 capsules of Cellcept, anti-osteoporosis, half of blood pressure medicine, medicine for uric acid, intestinal medicine, Plaquenil, pain killer + intestinal medicine and additional medicine for infection every Monday only. Additional furosemide (to make urination easier).

🌜Evening: 7.5mg of Predonine, 2 capsules of Prograf  + 0.5 capsule and 2 capsules of Cellcept, anti-cholesterol medicine, f 1 tablet of a blood pressure medicine, pain killer + intestinal medicine, and sleeping pills #1 & #2.

February 24 – March 3, 2019

I bought a new bag to reward myself, plus my old bag was 4 years ago. I like the saying written on it and it could be a shoulder bag or buddy bag. I think it is still safe to use this no zipper bag here. I haven’t come across a pickpocket here up to now.

All others symptoms like LBM is now being controlled thanks to the new treatment, Benlysta. But I am experiencing swelling on my joints, like this. 2 week has already passed but it is not getting any better. It is very big and really red. I feel like there is a heart beating in it. I am putting mint patches and drinking painkillers to hold down the pain. Since I complained this to mama doctor, Kitabayashi Sensei, she scheduled me for a rheumatologist check up.

March 1, was my appointment to the rheumatologist. Tada Sensei did an echo of my foot. As of now, there is nothing wrong with my bones (thank God). He said that it is not swelling of the joints; instead it is an inflammation of my ligaments due to the accumulation of water. This is a symptom of lupus. Since my kidneys are not working properly, the water cannot go out of my body so it is accumulated in other parts of my body. He cannot give me anymore medicine because I am already under proper medication. He just advised me to put on mint patches. Thank God that my medicines will not increase and this is not another disease. 

I dyed my hair dark brown. Does it suit me? I noticed that my hair is not falling that much. When I was still hospitalized, due to the side effects of the medicines, my hair was really falling. It is a good thing that it is getting better now and new hair are growing.

🌅Morning: from 10mg to 7.5mg of Predonine, 2 capsules of Cellcept, anti-osteoporosis, half of blood pressure medicine, medicine for uric acid, intestinal medicine, Plaquenil, a new brand of pain killer + intestinal medicine and additional medicine for infection reduced to every Monday only.

🌜Evening: 7.5mg of Predonine, from 3 capsules of Prograf down to 2 and 2 capsules of Cellcept, anti-cholesterol medicine, from half it became 1 tablet of a blood pressure medicine, a new brand of pain killer + intestinal medicine, and sleeping pills #1 & new brand #2.
